Seascape Photographs

I have always been drawn to the ocean, particularly along the southern California coast. The light in San Diego has a quality I have not found elsewhere, especially in winter, when the sunlight softens to produce warmer, deeper colors. The beaches are quieter then, giving me the solitude to observe the subtle and sometimes striking changes in the water and sky.

I always have my camera with me, but I do not photograph everything I see. I carry it so that when light, water, color, and atmosphere unexpectedly come together and transform the familiar into something magical, I am ready to capture that fleeting moment.
